The concept for our company was born soon after the birth of our first daughter. Caring for a tiny baby was a sudden wake-up call – we realized that the everyday choices we were making for her would impact her health, her well-being and the environment in general. Life is all about making choices, and we wanted to feel good about the choices we were making for our family.

When we began searching for products that could meet our needs, we found this to be somewhat of a challenge. We knew about the benefits of using cloth diapers instead of disposables, but not even the instructor in our baby class could help point us in the right direction. We finally purchased a department store brand of cloth diapers, but the diaper covers were another problem…by the time we put the diapers and cover on our daughter's little bottom, the diaper was almost bigger than her! In our frustration we kept searching for better cloth diapering solutions.

And then there was the whole question of what laundry detergent to use for washing cloth diapers at home…Our answer to this question became Claudia's Choices Ultra Phosphate Free Laundry Powder.

We soon found out that were not alone in our experience. We met many other young families and individuals who wanted to protect their families while minimizing their household’s impact on the environment. So we decided to make these hard-to-find, environmentally responsible products availble to others. 

And that's how Claudia’s Choices was born.
